Set For £100,000 Snooker Win Bookmakers
William
Hill face
a massive £100,000 Snooker
Betting
payout to a single customer if sixth favourite Ding
Junhui wins the World Snooker Championships, which
get underway this weekend. The bet was
placed eleven years ago by Dr You Sen Huang from
Beijing, who staked £200 at odds of 500/1 that
a Chinese born player would become World Champion
before 2010. "The client has
two more years in which to land what was a bold
gamble, as there were no Chinese-born players
anywhere in the rankings when he placed the bet."
said William Hill's spokesman Graham
Sharpe. Junhui is a 10/1
chance to win the tournament this year. See current

payout to individual punters who have taken out
long term bets. They are also facing a payout
£109,000 to a Scottish client if Tiger Woods
can equal Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 Majors before
the end of 2010 after he staked £10,900 at
odds of 10/1 seven years ago. Meanwhile,
champion John Higgins has branded Ronnie O'Sullivan
"stupid" for making lewd comments during a news
conference at last month's China Open. Ronnie
O'Sullivan's gestures after he lost to Marco Fu,
are to be reviewed by the World Professional
Billiards and Snooker Association disciplinary
panel. |
