Shortest Price To Win Next Election Bookmakers
William
Hill have
cut the price of the Conservative
Party
winning the next Election from 4/7 to 1/2 - the
shortest price they have been since Gordon Brown
became Prime Minister, with the Labour Party out to
6/4. "We have not
taken 10p on a Labour victory since Labour MPs
started to voice their concerns over the abolition
of the 10p tax band but we have seen money for
David Miliband to take over from his boss Gordon
Brown," said William Hill's spokesman Rupert
Adams. William Hill also
offer 6/1 that Gordon Brown does not lead the
Labour Party into the next Election. UK General
Election Betting Odds: 1/2 Conservatives, 6/4
Labour, 66/1 Lib Dem Next Labour
Leader Betting Odds: 2/1 D Miliband, 5/1 E Balls,
7/1 A Johnson, 10/1 J Straw, 10/1 J Purnell, 14/1 J
Denham, 14/1 A Burnhan, 16/1 Y Cooper, 16/1 H Benn,
16/1 D Alexander, 16/1 E Miliband, 20/1 H Harman,
25/1 R Kelly. For the first
time, there is expected to be significant interest
in the performance of UKIP (UK
Independence Party)
in the next General Election. UKIP are the only
main political party to have stated in their
manifesto that they intend to repeal the smoking
ban. As a result, many of the UK's huge base of
smokers are expected to switch loyalties to
UKIP. |
