United Still Odds On Title Favourites Despite
Chelsea Manchester United
are still favourites to win the Premier League
title despite losing to Chelsea, but
William
Hill have
doubled their odds from 1/ 8 to 1/ 4
favourites. Chelsea are now
11/4 to snatch the honours. Michael Ballack's
penalty blew the title race open as Chelsea moved
level on points with leaders Manchester United with
only two matches left. Joe Cole's shot
hit the bar as United, who lost Nemanja Vidic to
injury, backtracked before Ballack headed Chelsea
in front on 45 minutes. Wayne Rooney
drove in the equaliser after Ricardo Carvalho's
error to put United back in the driving seat. But
after Michael Carrick handled in the area, Ballack
won it from the spot. It was the first
penalty United had conceded in the league all
season and could prove decisive at the end of the
season when silverware is handed out. William Hill now
offer 11/10 that United will win the title on goal
difference, 15/8 by 1-3pts, 16/1 four or
more. Chelsea are 100/1
to win on Goal difference, 9/4 by 1-3pts and 25/1
by four or more. |
