2008 Wogan To Give
Eurovision A Miss? Bookies
William
Hill are
now offering even money odds that Terry Wogan will
never present the Eurovision song contest again.
They also offer 33/1 that the UK boycott the
contest in 2009. If the UK does
decide to compete, William Hill are offering odds
of 66/1 that the UK win and just 2/1 that the UK
finishes in last place. "Andy Abraham's
performance was one of the best on the night and he
deserved far more points, but sadly even if Madonna
had been the UK entrant we would still have come
last. We now think it is twice as likely that the
UK will boycott 2009 rather than win it. But when
all is said and done if Terry Wogan is not
presenting then no-one will be watching anyway."
said William Hill's spokesman Rupert
Adams. Victor Chandler
