2008 Amir Khan To
Win World Title This Year? Following Amir
Khan's latest victory, William
Hill are
offering odds of 6/4 that he wins a version of the
World Title (WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF) during
2008. The bookies also
offer odds of 8/11 that he does so during 2009 and
evens that he is not a World Title holder before
the end of next year. "There is no
doubt that Amir Khan is talented and exciting but
the frequency with which he can be hit and hurt is
a worry." said William Hill's spokesman Graham
Sharpe. "You'd have to
think it would be a big risk putting him into world
class company just yet." William Hill were
hit as hard as Khan's opponent Michael Gomez by the
5th round victory. "Punters were
convinced the fight would end early and we took a
five figure hammering on Round 5." said
Sharpe. |
