2008 Bookies Open
Betting On Royal Ascot Beauties Scouts from Royal
Ascot have been feverishly searching the crowds
this week in a quest to find the 'Face of Royal
Ascot 2009', and have compiled a short-list of
leggy lovelies to grace their marketing campaign
next year. Bookies
William
Hill
(official bookmakers for the Face of Royal Ascot
2009) have priced up the odds on the five
finalists, and make Shannon Gleeson a 26-year-old
from London their 5-2 favourite to win the outright
competition. The beautiful
blonde already works in the Fashion industry and
William Hill reckon this experience, coupled with
her model looks makes her a likely
winner. Devon born Katy
Halseed currently studying at Oxford is the
youngest competitior at just 18, and rates as joint
second-favourite at 3-1 along with sultry brunette
Julie Falconer from London. The field is
completed by London-based Kathryn Allen (4-1), and
South African born Megan Harris (5-1) who also
lives in London. Spokeswoman for
William Hill, Jennie Prest, said: "Glamour is
paramount at Royal Ascot, and any these five ladies
would be a worthy winner of the title. They all
photograph terrifically well, and it was almost an
impossible task to create the odds. However,
favourite Shannon Gleeson's fashion experience may
give her a vital edge." The short-listed
candidates selected all throughout this week will
be invited back on the final day of Royal Ascot,
when the winner, who will present the trophy for
the meeting's concluding race will be
unveiled. |
