10 July
2008 Open Set To Be
Bonanza - Can Van De Velde Make The
Cut? Bookmakers
William
Hill will
not miss Tiger Woods at the 137th Open
championship, as they expect industry turnover to
break the £30 Million pound mark. William Hill have
already seen record early turnover for the Open,
which they attribute to the absence of Tiger Woods,
with punters seeing value in a number of
players. "Over the last
few years many of our smaller stake punters have
been put off by Tiger Woods and his absence has
stimulated turnover for the Open. We have high
hopes that we will have a record turnover this year
with Garcia currently the worst result in our
book." said William Hill's spokesman Rupert
Adams. Jean Van De Velde
is back and William Hill rate him as at 250/1 to
win, 2/7 to miss the cut, 5/2 to be there all four
days and 66/1 to be in the final pair on
Sunday. |
