2008 Bet That
Labour MP's Don't Want To Lose Their
Jobs Bookmakers
William
Hill have
seen a lull in their betting for the next Labour
leader as punters weigh up the consequences of a
leadership challenge. Over the weekend,
William Hill saw a run on both Alan Johnson and
David Miliband, which suggested a possible imminent
challenge but the bookies have now seen a number of
sizeable wagers on Gordon Brown still being Labour
leader at the next General Election. "The simple fact
that many Labour MP's are having to come to terms
with is that if a leadership challenge occurs, the
odds suggest that many will lose their jobs. As a
result we have seen money for Gordon to survive at
least until the next Election." said William Hill's
spokesman Rupert Adams. |
