2008 Bumper Entry
For William Hill Great St Wilfrid The Sponsors have
made Hogmaneigh, Knot In Wood, and Valery Borzov
their 8-1 co favourites for this Saturday's
William
Hill
Great St Wilfrid at Ripon. The trio were
among 49 horses that stood their ground at the five
day declaration stage for the six furlong
contest. The 'Sprint King'
Dandy Nicholls is unsurprisingly mob handed in the
race. The Yorkshire based handler has entered five
horses including one of the co-favourites Valery
Bozov in the race. The Saeed Bin
Suroor trained Floristry is the sole representative
from Godolphin, and is rated a 16-1 chance by the
sponsors to win the six furlong dash. Other notable
entries in the Ripon feature include the 2006
winner Excusez Moi, and Bond City, who was
successful over course and distance last
Monday. David Hood
spokesman for the sponsors said: "The William Hill
Great St Wilfrid is always one of the most
competitive races on the British racing calendar,
and this year's race looks no
different." He continued:
"This Saturday's race has a nice blend of unexposed
horses, and seasoned campaigners, and at this stage
it looks like a very tricky contest to work
out." |
