15 August
2008 20 Declared
For William Hill Great St Wilfrid A maximum field
of 20 have been declared for Saturday's
William
Hill
Great St Wilfrid, and ante-post gamble Hogmaneigh
remains at the head of the betting with the
sponsors. Stuart Williams'
charge has been the subject of significant interest
throughout the week, signaling that a big run is
expected from the recent racecourse
absentee. Sprint King Dandy
Nicholls who won this race in 2005 has his usual
strong hand, with 7-1 chance Valery Borzov
representing the best of his chances. Richard Fahey is
another trainer to send more than one runner to the
race but 8-1 chance Knot In Wood appears to have
his chances hampered by a poor draw in trap one.
His other runner 33-1 chance Hinton Admiral may
well have the best of a run from stall ten, with
potential pace-setter Tamagin next door in stall
nine. Kate Miller,
spokeswoman for William Hill, said: "All the best
chances appear to have remained in the race, and it
looks set to be another thriller this year. The
usual draw bias at Ripon leans between middle and
high, but this appears to alter in soft conditions.
Hogmaneigh is our worst result in the book by far,
and to spite us further has copped a plum draw in
stall 15." Don't forget,
Paddy
Power
also pay out on disqualified winners and official
result on all UK and Ireland races. |
