Install O'Brien Fancy Into Triumph Bookies
William
Hill have
reacted to the news that Aidan O'Brien has
reapplied for his jumps licence by installing some
of his possible targets into the Cheltenham
Festival betting. The Irish legend
cut his teeth in Jumps racing before moving his
interests to the flat when appointed Master of
Ballydoyle back in 1996. His previous jumps
highlights include guiding hurdling star Istabraq
to his three Champion Hurdle successes, before
concentrating full-time on the flat after
Istabraq's retirement. He revealed today
that Group Three winner Hebridean - owned by Adrian
Nolan - would be a likely candidate for a serious
campaign over jumps. William Hill have installed
the three-year-old into the Triumph Hurdle betting
at 16-1, and quote him at 50-1 to win the Champion
Hurdle. Kate Miller,
Spokeswoman for William Hill, said: "I am sure that
a large proportion of the West Country reached for
the valium at this news! Not content with
slaughtering the flat boys this season, Aidan now
wants to take on the big guns at Cheltenham. His
record speaks for itself, in both disciplines, and
we will be keeping a watchful eye on any other
potential jumps candidates." |
