To Deliver First Class Winnings Former postman
Alan Johnson has been backed from 7/1 to 5/1 third
favourite with William
Hill
after being tipped to succeed Gordon Brown as the
next leader of the Labour Party. "We have seen a
rush of support for Johnson to be the man the Party
turns to when Gordon Brown steps down - either
voluntarily or at the behest of senior Party member
- and these political punters obviously believe Mr
Johnson is a first wager." said William Hill's
spokesman Graham Sharpe. William Hill make
David Miliband 2/1 favourite to be the next Labour
Leader with Jack Straw 4/1 second favourite and
they also offer 7/1 Harriet Harman and 8/1 Jon
