2008 Punters Hoping
For An Early Christmas From
Hogmaneigh Despite an
absence of over two months from the track,
Hogmaneigh has proved popular with the sponsors for
this weekend's William
Hill
Great St Wilfrid handicap at Ripon. Stuart Williams's
charge was yesterday afternoon cut to 7-1 from 8-1
after some significant support for the famous
heritage handicap. The crack
sprinter last appeared in the Derby Day 'Dash' at
Epsom finishing fourth to Holbeck Ghyll, but a
reoccurrence of feet problems saw the bay gelding
consigned to the sick bay for the bulk of the
Summer and he will make his comeback in Saturday's
race. Kate Miller,
spokeswoman for William Hill, said: "Business has
so far been steady for our race, but we're
expecting some more activity after tomorrow's
declarations. Hogmaneigh is so far a stand-out in
the book after some strong support within the last
24-hours and connections are obviously expecting a
big run after his recent problems." |
