The victory was his second big victory in Ireland this season following his victory with Oslot in the William Hill Galway Plate. The defending champion trainer Willie Mullins is the even money favourite for this year's jumps trainers title, while multiple Champion Trainer Noel Meade is 2-1 to regain his crown. William Hill's spokesman Tony Kenny commented: "The victory in the Munster National was another sign from Paul Nicholls that he's not afraid to take on the big Irish trainers in their own back yard. He has a fantastic strike rate in Ireland and if he continues to send over horses for the big Irish pots then he must be considered a leading contender for this year's Irish trainers title." |
