2008 Prix De L'Arc
De Triomphe Apart from
Philippe Albert with his dodgy moustache, jockey
Christophe Soumillon is probably the best thing to
come out of Belgium since they invented the
waffle. The cheeky
horseman, once described by Ted Walsh as "a bit of
a pup", will be the envy of the racing world when
he gets the leg up on Prix De L'Arc De Triomphe
favourite Zarkava at Lonchamp this
Sunday. Having dwelt
coming out of the stalls in her Arc trial, Alain De
Royer-Dupre's filly was hugely impressive when she
made up the ground and won the Prix Vermeille
easily. Not since 1993
has a filly won the Arc, but with her incredible
speed and stamina, the Aga Khan's horse should
finish on top. Betting Odds
