Eddie O'Grady's charge was one of eight horses that stood their ground at the final declaration stage for the Grade 1 contest. Dual Champion Hurdler Hardy Eustace is the 11/4 second favourite for the 2 ½ mile contest, while the 2006 Champion Hurdler Brave Inca is rated a 10/1 chance to score on his comeback run. Noel Meade has left two horses in the race. The 2007 winner Aitmatov and the last year's Royal Bond winner Muirhead. Kazal, Sweet Kiln and Convincing complete the eight runner line up. William Hill's Irish spokesman Tony Kenny commented: "Brave Inca and Hardy Eustace have had some monumental battles over the last few years and it'll great to see the two old war horses locking horns again. The one horse that punters think could spoil the party is Catch Me. Eddie O'Grady's charge has been the best backed horse in the race and looks almost certain to go off favourite." |
