Departure Sees Brown Out Odds Slashed
Again Following the
departure of James Purnell, bookies
William
Hill have
slashed the odds that Gordon Brown will be out of
power before the end of next Saturday (June 13th)
from 4/1 to 5/4 (2.25) and Alan Johnson has
been cut from 6/4 (2.5) to even money
favourite to succeed him. The bookies make
Gordon Brown 11/10 (2.1) to be gone before the
next General Election. "Although James
Purnell may well have paved the way for the
departure of Gordon Brown, we don't think he is
likely to become Leader as a result and have
lengthened his odds from 14/1 to 20/1 while Alan
Johnson remains red-hot favourite at even money."
said William Hill's spokesman Graham
Sharpe. UKIP could gain a
massive boost from smokers in the next General
Election as they are the only main political party
to have stated in their manifesto that they intend
to repeal the highly Unpopular
Smoking Ban
which has closed thousands of pubs, clubs and bingo
halls throughout the UK. UKIP are
currently a 500/1 chance to win the next General
Election - halved from 1000/1. Select from the
