Bookies Slash Odds On Tiger Being Tamed

After spotting a chink in the armour of the mighty Tiger Woods, shrewd punters have wasted no time placing bets on the 14-time Major Champion NOT winning a Major Championship in 2010.

Irish bookie Paddy Power were forced to suspend their betting yesterday on Tiger Woods remaining Major-less next year after speculation in the US media that his marriage is on the rocks triggered an avalanche of betting on this side of the Atlantic.

Subsequently, the odds on Tiger Woods not winning a Major title in 2010 have been cut from 9/4 (3.25) to 13/8 (2.62) while the odds on Tiger winning all four Majors were pushed from 20/1 to 28/1 - the biggest odds on a Tiger grand slam in recent years.

A Paddy Power spokesperson said: "Its not often punters have the chance to win money by backing against Tiger but they seem to believe that recent goings-on at his Florida home may take its toll on his performance heading into next season."

Paddy Power are also offering odds on Tiger’s martial status at the end of next year with the bookie offering odds of 4/6 (1.66) for the world number one to remain married, 6/4 (2.5) to be divorced and 20/1 to be married to someone else.
