2010 Gordon Brown
To Quit On Election Day? With Gordon Brown
reportedly declaring that he will not stand down as
Labour leader even if his party fails to win the
General Election, bookies William
Hill have
opened a book on when he will cease to be leader.
William Hill offer odds of 14/1 that it will happen
on General Election day itself and even money that
it does so within a week of election
day. Gordon Brown is
9/4 (3.25) to remain as leader until the end of
2010. "Gordon Brown may
be adamant that he will not step down but that is a
decision which may be taken out of his hands should
Labour perform badly at the election." said William
Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe. The bookies make
David Miliband 11/4 (3.75) favourite to
succeed Brown. UKIP
(UK
Independence Party)
could gain a massive boost from smokers in the next
General Election as they are the only main
political party to have stated in their manifesto
that they intend to repeal the highly unpopular
smoking
ban. Punters get
