2010 Oscars Betting
- Inglourious Behaviour Sparks Gamble On
Outsider What has been
billed as the biggest Oscar battle in years -
between The
Hurt Locker
and Avatar
- is in danger of becoming a non-event with bookies
William
Hill
cutting the price of Inglourious
Basterds
from 16/1 to 10/1 following a solid gamble in the
last 24 hours. "There is a
theory going round that the tactics being employed
by the big two to get votes has annoyed academy
members and they have voted for the third choice
which is Inglourious." said William Hill's spokesman
Rupert Adams. Jeff Bridges has
been cut to 1/7 (1.14) to win the Best Actor
Oscar which is the shortest price that William Hill
have offered for a major Oscar since Helen Mirren
was quoted at 1/50 (1.02) for her portrayal of
the Queen. Sandra Bullock is
4/7 (1.57) to win Best Actress and should she
win she is 2/1 to cry during her speech. Place Your Bets -
