2010 Oxfam Stand To
Win £339,000 From Beyond The
Grave Bookies
William
Hill are
set to pay £101,840 to Oxfam
if Roger Federer wins this summer's Wimbledon title
after a deceased gambler left a string of bets to
the charity in his will! Nick Newlife from
Oxford took out a series of bets on Federer, Andy
Roddick and West Indian cricketer Ramnaresh Sarwan
and if all of them come off then Oxfam will benefit
to the tune of a third of a million
poiunds. "Mr Newlife
passed away at the age of 69, leaving behind a
string of potentially very profitable sporting
bets." said William Hill's spokesman Graham
Sharpe. "He won over
£20,000 for himself before he died and Oxfam
have so far collected £16,750 from a bet on
Federer to win 14 Grand Slam titles but there is
much more to come if all of the bets pay off. If
Sarwan can make 9000 runs in his test career they
will win a further £109,000
windfall." Place Your Bets -
