Following yesterday's budget, bookies William Hill are offering odds of 10/1 that the Tory/Liberal Democrat coalition will break down, leading to a General Election this year. "Although the coalition is currently presenting a united front, there are rumours that it wouldn't take much for cracks to begin to show and if that were the case then an election may not be far behind." said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe. The bookies already make the Tories 5/4 (2.25) to win an overall majority at the next election, with Labour 5/2 (3.5) and the Liberal Democrats 50/1. William Hill offer 13/8 (2.62) that there will again be a hung parliament at the next General Election. Perhaps the only surprise here is that the bookies think anyone will ever vote Labour again. Finding someone who admits to voting for Labour is seen as similar to finding someone who admitted they voted for the Nazi Party. |
