2010 Facebook The
Movie Tipped For Phenomenal Success It's not due for
release until October but already 'The Social
Network' a movie about Facebook
and its founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg's life, has
been met with a lot of criticism and is causing
quite a stir amongst movie buffs. Facebook
co-founder Dustin Moskovitz called it a
"dramatisation of history" while Zuckerberg went
one step further by saying he wished the movie was
never made. Despite the
disapproving comments from the genii who created
the world's most popular network, bookies
Paddy
Power are
confident the film will be a big hit with movie
goers worldwide and have already opened betting on
how successful it will be. It's just 3/1
that the movie rakes in between $250 million and
$300 million at the worldwide box office while in
the US alone it's tipped to pull in more than $50
million in its opening weekend. The odds on 'The
Social Network' winning Best Picture at next year's
Oscar's are 18/1 while the odds on it sinking James
Cameron's Titanic and his new sci-fi hit Avatar are
20/1. Sharon McHugh,
spokesperson for Paddy Power, said: "The Facebook
phenomenon took everyone by surprise nobody
foresaw just how popular it was going to be and
similarly it's hard to gauge how successful the
film will be. With over sixty million Facebook members
worldwide though, it's hard to see it failing at
the box office." |
