2010 Guns And Roses
Backed To Pull Out Of Leeds And
Reading With the Leeds
and Reading Festival coming this weekend, the event
organisers have certainly taken a bit of a gamble
by booking Guns And Roses and The Libertines on the
same billing. Bookies
William
Hill have
opened a book on whether the notoriously unreliable
bands will take to the stage this weekend. Guns And
Roses are just 1/2 (1.5) to perform at both
shows and 2/1 to withdraw from both shows. The
bookies are offering odds of 7/1 that they play
just one show, presumably due to the fractious
personality of Axl Rose. The Libertines,
who were famed for their very public fall-out, are
1/6 (1.16) to perform at both shows and 4/1 to
pull out of the weekend festival. William Hill are
also offering 7/1 that Pete Doherty, front man of
the Libertines will be arrested at either one of
the shows and just 25/1 that he is arrested at
both. "Reading and
Leeds are famed for trying to attract edgier acts
than V or Glastonbury but unfortunately, these acts
are generally more temperamental and thus, more
unreliable." said William Hill's spokesman Joe
Crilly. |
