Monday,
02 June 2008 We're playing
catch up a bit today from all the weekend's betting
action. We've done loads of work on Casino Beacon
every day (yeah, we have to work weekends too) and
there's no sign of that stopping any time
soon. Britain's Got
Talent And A Crapload Of
Gamblers To say that we
were surprised by the level of betting interest in
Britain's Got Talent would be a huge
understatement. Yeah, we expected some of you to
get involved with the betting but the sheer amount
of interest totally blew us away. We had literally
thousands and thousands of you here on Saturday,
looking for the latest odds and chucking your money
around. The results was a
bit of a surprise to many people. Most bookies were
predicting Faryl Smith or Escala to take the title.
Faryl Smith was odds on at 10/11 with Escala second
favourite at 13/8. William
Hill, who
usually get their predictions pretty spot on, had
said they "would be surprised if the winner does
not come from the top two". In fact, 14 year
old dancer George
Sampson won Britain's Got
Talent
and saved the bookies from a monster payout in what
turned out to be a new
record in Reality TV betting
history -
William Hill alone took bets worth more than
£150,000. What does this
mean for Casino Beacon? Well, it definitely means
that we were right to create our Entertainment
Betting
section last month. There's not a huge amount in
there at the moment but it's poised for action and
is ideally placed to cater for the fast-approaching
Big
Brother 9 Betting. Talking of Big
Brother, we really hope that this year they
do what they always promise to do and go back to
basics. Series 2 was the last good series of Big
Brother. That's our opinion and we're sticking to
it. Last year's Big Brother was, for want of a
better word, crap. We didn't even make it to the
end of day one and for Big Brother fanatics such as
ourselves, that's unheard of. So sod the
surprise evictions, chuck away the
not-so-secret-house and go back to what it did best
- REALITY TV. Seasons one and two were brilliant -
let's go back to what Big Brother was all about and
chuck in some normal housemates and watch what
happens. No more stupid twists and turns. We're not
holding our breath. Other
Stuff We adding a bit
more fluff to the Online
Lotteries
page which was (and still is, to be fair) looking a
bit bare. We've started
work on the Beginners
Guide and FAQ.
Most of this is actually written - we just need to
put it into an acceptable format and get it onto
the site. The original plan was to have a separate
Beginners Guide and an FAQ but it quickly became
apparent that one section would do the whole job
perfectly. We're very aware that this will be a
very useful guide for newcomers to the online
casino world so we're trying to get it up and ready
for you as soon as humanly possible. We'll be adding
more independent Online
Casinos Reviews
shortly. Keep a watchful eye on that section to
find out where to play and where to
avoid. Remember that
Casino Beacon is continuously updated throughout
the day so do pop back to the site throughout the
day. It's probably worth Bookmarking
Us for an
easy return. |
