Friday,
30 May 2008 Things are a bit
slow and subdued at Casino Beacon HQ today. I'm
more than a little tired having been up all night
playing in an Online
Poker
tournament at Reefer
Poker.
Yeah, that is one strange name for an online poker
site and they're definitely all about the smoking
game. Take a look at Reefer
Poker's Website
and you'll get a rough idea of what we're talking
about! Anyway, we're UK
based but with the exception of a few euro players,
pretty much everyone else involved was USA based. I
got the tournament start time mixed up and thought
it started at midnight. Nope - it kicked off at
2am. Not too late considering that we're happenin'
party people, you'd think. Thing is, work started
here at about 7am yesterday so by the time the
tournament kicked off, I'd already been at my desk
for about 19 hours. Not the best way to enter a
poker tournament against other industry
professionals. What never ceases
to amaze me with online poker - and land-based
poker for that matter - is how you can consistently
get dumped out of tournaments even when you play
brilliantly, with superb hands, and yet when you're
throwing chips around with crappy hole cards,
almost pleading to lose the hand so you can walk
away and go to bed or do something different, you
always seem to find the cards you need to win.
Bah! Well, that's
exactly what happened last night. Despite playing
absolutely awful, quite intentionally, and playing
with some really lousy cards, the good luck just
wouldn't go away. Or bad luck, depending on how you
look at it. I did okay. Came
5th or 6th from 60 odd players. But I'm feeling
rather shattered now so go easy on us here today,
I'm not as young as I used to be and I need a
day to recover. Thanks to
Reefer
Poker for
putting on the tournament. Lots of fun. More Casino
Reviews And Updates We've done quite
a bit more updating of Casino Beacon since the last
update. We thoroughly Reviewed
Cirrus Casino
and you can check out the monster-sized review if
you're in the mood for a long read. The review of
Cirrus Casino is over 2000 words long so get
yourself comfortable before you click that
link. Cirrus Casino are
offering a No
Deposit Bonus
but, without giving too much away, it's probably
best to check out our review before you go heading
off to collect it. The
Online
Casino Reviews
section is really starting to look good now. The
reviews are all independent and nothing if not
honest - brutally so in some cases. We're proud of
offering what we genuinely consider to be the best
online casino reviews section available at any
UK
Casino Website
and any feedback is appreciated. If you'd like us
to take a look at a casino that you're thinking of
joining then do Drop
Us An E-mail
and ask us to give them the third degree. All part
of the service, Sir. Or ma'am. The
No
Credit Card
Casinos
section is now starting to get some real shape
about it. There are now additional pages for
Neteller
Casinos,
Moneybookers
Casinos
and Click2Pay
Casinos.
We're aware that most of these pages do need
filling out and we shall be doing that over the
coming days and weeks. To be honest, the
No Credit Card Casinos section won't apply to most
of our visitors. Being a UK-based site, most of you
will also be living in the UK so would most
likely use a credit or debit card when playing at
an Online
Casino.
Still, it's nice to know that we're catering for
those of you who don't have a credit/debit card or
don't want to use it, and of course that section
will be very helpful for our non-UK visitors who
can sometimes find it difficult to deposit at an
online casino with a credit card. News And
Stuff The
News
and Articles
pages continue to be updated several times
throughout the day. There seems to be loads of
betting news and opportunities at the moment and it
can sometimes be hard to get the updates online as
fast as we'd like to - the updates, stories and
betting odds come flying in to us from all
directions, sometimes all at the same time.
Britain's
Got Talent
is generating some serious betting action and
Euro
2008 Betting
is really starting to pick up too. In an attempt to
make the news sections a bit easier to navigate,
we've decided to create some topic-specific news
sub-categories. First to be thrown into the mix are
Online
Casino News
and Euro
2008 News.
You can still get to all of the news stories
featured at Casino Beacon by going directly to the
overall News
Index but
if you know that you're looking for a specific
topic then it should make it easier for you to find
what you're looking for. We've added a few
casinos to the Progressive
Jackpots
section. Have a look, spin a few reels and you
could end up a millionaire a few seconds later.
Worth checking out. So that's it for
now. Despite feeling absolutely battered, we've
done rather more than we thought we had. Enjoy the
site and remember, any feedback - good and bad - is
always welcome. Remember that
Casino Beacon is continuously updated throughout
the day so do pop back to the site throughout the
day. It's probably worth Bookmarking
Us for an
easy return. |
