Update
and Blog - Wednesday, 28 January 2009 A mixture of good
and not so good news in today's update. The great
news is that Aston Villa (yeah, our team) have
made it into third spot in the Premier League. Now,
if we can just make it to the end of the season in
the top four then we'll be shouting it from the
rooftops. Birmingham City missing out on promotion
would make the deal just that bit
sweeter. Less welcome news
is that Playboy
Casino
have announced they'll be closing down on the 29th
of this month. Heck, we only reviewed them recently
and gave them a maximum 5 Star rating. They
are/were a top-quality Online
Casino
and we'll be sad to see them go. Playboy Casino
haven't given any reason for shutting up shop so
we're left in the dark. Not to worry.
Intercasino
have all the same games that Playboy Casino has so
you can simply sign up there and continue the
gaming. Intercasino are one of the internet's
longest-running and most-played online casinos and
are not likely to be going anywhere
soon. The change of US
Presidency is making it likely that more
USA
Allowed Online
Casinos
will appear. Bush was very much against online
casinos and many of them now don't accept US-based
players as a result. The reason for Bush's policy?
Certainly not a moral issue, despite his claim. The
real reason for his approach is pure and simple -
tax. The US loses tax revenue because they
haven't regulated and taxed the industry. Once this
has changed, the industry will be
healthier. Changes in
US law are not going to happen overnight but
early signs are promising. The fact that the new US
President is rather partial to a game of
Poker
may not hurt either. Talking of legal
changes, it's about time we saw the moronic smoking
ban dumped in the bin where it belongs. The 'nanny
state' Labour-introduced smoking ban has not only
crippled the pub industry. It has also battered
casinos and bingo halls. Get rid of the ban and
we'll see these industries recover but we need to
do it sooner rather than later. Get over to
