2008 Progressive
Jackpots Pass $250 Million In
Payouts Microgaming's
Progressive
Jackpot
Network has reached new heights as its payout total
rocketed past the $250m mark this week (or
£250m for UK players). The network -
launched five years ago has now paid out the
equivalent of $137,000 per day since launch and is
currently sitting at a massive $6 million
plus. The ascent to the
landmark total was given a boost thanks to last
month's bumper payday for Finnish player Klaus E,
who became an instant millionaire after placing a
$0.50 bet on the Mega-Moolah Progressive Slot
Machine and walking away with a cool $5.5
million. Offering 21
progressive jackpot games and boasting over 6,500
winners to date, Microgaming's progressive network
- the largest on the Internet, has built up a
reputation for creating overnight millionaires,
with 13 lucky players having been catapulted into
its hall of fame since 2003. Roger Raatgever,
CEO, Microgaming comments: "Reaching $250 million
in payouts is an unbelievable milestone and speaks
volumes about Microgaming's commitment to making
sure we offer our operators' players the most
attractive gaming experience on the net. We already
have Mega Moolah over $3 million again and Roulette
Royale and Major Millions are climbing swiftly
towards $1million, so I'm sure it won't be long
before we're celebrating reaching the $300 million
mark." Winning amounts
are paid out in the currency in which the winner
has played the game. Therefore, if played in the UK
- 1,000,000 is paid in £s. However if in
Spain, this would be 1,000,000 Euros (approx
£740,000). To have a chance
