2010 Real
Deal Games Arrive At Betfair Arcade
Casino Betfair
have added a new category of games called Read Deal
to their Online
Casino.
Found under the 'Arcade' section of their website,
Real Deal introduces six new exclusive casino games
that Betfair claim will "revolutionise the
industry." Real Deal has
been two years in development at Betfair's gaming
labs and they believe that the games demonstrate
the future of online casinos. The six new Real
Deal games are European Blackjack, Vegas Blackjack,
Pontoon, European Roulette, Baccarat and Money
Wheel. Real Deal is all
about virtual dealers. Betfair's hope is that
players will be able to immerse themselves into the
online casino environment in a way never before
possible. The latest CGI graphics and technology
should enable Real Deal players to interact with 3D
virtual dealers in the most realistic online
gambling environment. That's the aim,
anyway. Sam Hobcraft,
Betfair Head of Games, said: "We are really excited
to launch these exclusive casino games. We are
delighted with the product which looks stunning and
the graphics are better than anything on the
market. Our customers can enjoy the experience
without download and experience exceptionally quick
game play whilst enjoying their favourite casino
games." The software and
technology behind Real Deal has been developed with
the future in mind. The aim is that famous figures
will be implemented into the games. Paris Hilton
dealing blackjack cards? Kylie Minogue spinning the
roulette wheel? Betfair Casino is
part of the world's biggest online betting
community with more than two million customers and
hundreds of top-quality casino games. Let's
Take A Look Then We tried to play
all six Real Deal games and results were mixed. The
laptop we were using isn't exactly brand new but
it's not creaking at the edges either and some of
the games were quite slow. Even worse, a couple of
them wouldn't work at all. Three of the
games appear to be very similar - European
Blackjack, Vegas Blackjack, Pontoon - and
unfortunately, we could find very little
description on Betfair's website of how these games
work or differ. Pontoon will include a Five Card
Trick feature but other than that, we're a little
in the dark. The blackjack,
roulette and baccarat games seemed to work quite
nicely, if a little sluggish. The atmosphere felt
right and the sound was realistic. The virtual
dealer's animation seemed pleasantly natural and it
did feel that bit more 'real' than at most online
casinos. On the downside, we couldn't get the
Pontoon or Money Wheel games to work at all.
Equally unnerving was the euro blackjack game which
froze after just one hand. So is Real Deal
any good? We'd like to say it WILL be good but
perhaps there are a few teething problems to work
out first. It's probably advisable to try these
games only on a hi-spec PC or laptop as the games
clearly don't perform well on anything less. We'll
be checking in with the Real Deal games again in
the near future to see how they're
performing. The whole idea of
Real Deal is an interesting one. It rather lands in
the middle of ordinary online casinos and real
Live
Dealer Casinos
and we're not totally convinced that this is
breaking new ground. A 'live dealer' who is
actually animated, rather than a real deal shown
via live feed, is still just a customer-generated
dealer and the results are still determined by a
Random Number Generator. Perhaps more
novelty than revolutionary, the jury is still out
on Betfair's latest offering but we're always
pleased to come across new innovations in the
online casino scene. Betfair are nothing if not
original - they're the only online casino we know
of who offer casino games with zero house edge - so
we applaud them for continuing to introduce new
things. |
