24 Casino Review Box
24 Casino
Review Welcome
Bonus: Our
Rating: Introduction Box
24 are a relative newcomer to the
UK
Online
Casino
scene. They're fully licensed and
have quickly generated a decent
reputation. New players are
welcomed with a variety of
welcome bonus options, including
a no deposit required bonus (see
review for details). Getting
Started When
you first visit Box 24 Casino's
website, you'll notice that there
are two ways of playing - you can
either download the casino's
software to your PC or you can
opt for the 'Instant Play'
version which is played via your
browser. It's normal for most
online casinos to offer both
options although the vast
majority of players tend to go
for the full download version as
it usually gives you access to a
larger suite of casino games. In
any event, the games you play are
identical so it comes to down to
your own personal
preference. We
were concerned to note that our
browser (Internet Explorer 8)
warned us of a page error (syntax
error) on Box 24's homepage.
We're confident it's nothing more
than a coding error but still,
these things should be tested and
resolved before users get to see
a problem. A newcomer to online
casinos is not going to be
reassured by an error
warning! It
was also annoying to have the
same promotions pop-up box
appearing on EVERY PAGE of the
site. We'd click to close it and
move onto another page only to be
hit with the same damn pop-up
every time. These
were not the only problems we
came across on Box 24's website
as we'll explain next. No
Deposit Required Welcome
Bonus The
first welcome bonus you'll be
offered is a £24 completely
free no deposit required bonus.
This really is as simple as it
sounds - simply sign up and
you'll get the £24 free to
try out Box 24's
games. As
with any internet casino, you
will be required to meet
'playthrough requirements' before
you can make a withdrawal when
playing with free bonus money.
These playthrough requirements
will be a multiple of the amount
you've received. For example, if
you receive a bonus of £10
and there's a playthrough
requirement of x20 then you'd
need to wager a total of
£200 in bets (£10 x 20)
before cashing out the
winnings. At
Box 24 Casino, finding out the
playthrough required wasn't
exactly easy. On their
'promotions' page it says "GBP
wagering x35 bonus e.g 40x
£24 = £960 wagering".
Now, there's very clearly a typo
in there because it says x35 and
also x40. The £960 wagers
means that it must actually be
x40 as £24 multiplied by 40
comes to the £960 they
mentioned. We actually gave Box
24 a heads-up that there were
calculation errors a few weeks
ago but they obviously didn't do
much about it. The
maximum amount you can withdraw
using the no deposit bonus is
£120 and the minimum is
£50. In our own session we
actually managed to win the
maximum £120 - we'll tell
you more about that later in the
review. Playing
any of the following games do not
count towards playthrough
requirements: Roulette,
Blackjack, Sicbo, RedDog,
Baccarat, PaiGow, War, ThreeCard,
LetItRide, Craps, CaribStud, Slot
Progressive - which pretty much
leaves you with slot games, video
poker and a few other games such
as scratch cards. One
thing we did like is that bonuses
at Box 24 are not forced upon
you. With some online casinos,
the bonuses (including deposit
bonuses) are automatically
credited to your account. This is
fine if you actually want to play
with bonus money but not all
players do. Many players prefer
to leave the bonuses well alone
and not have to worry about
playthrough requirements or
restricted games. At
Box 24 Casino, you can claim
bonuses instantly from the
casino's 'Cashier'. It was also
pleasant to see nice
easy-to-understand terms and
conditions displayed at the same
time. It would be nice to publish
this same useful information on
the website so players can read
them before actually signing
up. Incidentally,
we came across another typo on
the 'promotions' page - "Please
read the terms & conditions
of the bonus in the casino
cashier before claiming a
bonuse" A
simple click on 'spell check'
would have avoided that
mistake. Make
A Deposit And Get More Free
Cash The
no deposit bonus is a nice way to
get started and we've already
displayed with our own experience
that the offer is a genuine one
that does pay out. That said, the
real free money starts when you
begin to make
deposits. Take
a look at the 'promotions' page
on the website and you'll see
(once you've closed that damn
pop-up again) that you'll be
offered a free money welcome
bonus on your first four
deposits. These bonuses work as
follows: A
quick calculation shows that you
can claim up to £2,400 free
with these bonuses. That's a
massive amount of free money
available and the playthrough
requirements are reasonable. The
first and second deposit bonuses
are subject to 25 x deposit plus
bonus and the third and fourth
deposit bonuses are subject to 15
x deposit plus bonus. Of
course, if you'd rather just play
with your own money and not worry
about playthrough requirements
then simply ignore the bonuses -
they're not
compulsory. Casino
Games There
are more than 80 games to play at
Box 24 and we were more than
happy with all of them. Box 24's
games are powered by Rival
Software who entered the online
casino scene relatively recently
when compared to other software
companies such as Microgaming who
have been around for as long as
we can remember. The
more time we spend playing games
designed by Rival, the more we
really like them. They're fresh,
fun and interesting. It used to
be fair to say that Microgaming
were head and shoulders above the
competition but times are
changing fast and we probably had
more fun playing at Box 24 than
we've had at a
Microgaming-powered casino in a
long time. We also definitely had
a fair game with a good rate of
winnings. In fact, our gaming
session was so fair that we
easily hit the playthrough
requirements with the £24 no
deposit bonus. One
really excellent thing we can
report is that Box 24 e-mailed us
once we'd reached the playthrough
requirements, telling us
"Congratulations you have met the
terms and conditions of the free
bonus. You are now free to
withdraw $120.00". Okay,
they should have said £120
and not $120 as we were playing
in UK£ but even so, that's
pretty damn impressive customer
service. We did go ahead and make
our withdrawal and we had the
funds in our account within 24
hours. Considering that we had
just won £120 real money
without risking a penny of our
own funds, we couldn't have been
more chuffed! New
games are frequently added to Box
24 and they can be downloaded
easily from within the casino
software. We did find ourselves
staring stupidly at the screen,
waiting for quite some time
because the game downloads took a
LONG time. To add to this, unlike
at most other online casinos, you
can't play other games or do
anything else while new games
download. Banking
and Support There
are many ways you can deposit
funds and withdraw your winnings
at Box 24 Casino. These include
credit card, debit card,
NETeller,
EcoCard, Click2Pay,
Moneybookers
and several others. Box
24's 'cashier' page provides
comprehensive banking information
and useful contact numbers. If
you're UK based then you should
have no problem depositing or
withdrawing your money but they
do offer 24/7 customer support in
case you need to reach them. They
can be reached via a freephone
telephone number, fax, e-mail or
even via a useful 'live chat'
facility which allows you to
instantly chat with a real
person, similar to using an
Instant Messenger
service. We
did test out Box 24's customer
support and on the whole, they
were okay. Unfortunately, we
can't be too glowing here because
they actually ignored one of our
e-mails. It's common for us to
send a few questions to a casino
to test out their support for the
purpose of our review. These are
often questions about how the
bonuses work or banking queries.
Sometimes we ask really stupid
questions, pretending to be a
newcomer to internet casinos,
just to see how the casino treats
their customers. In
the case of Box 24, we e-mailed
them asking "I'm just wondering,
why is the casino called 'box
24'? and when did your casino
launch?" That
was five weeks ago and they still
haven't bothered to reply so we
can't tell you the answers to
either of those questions. Now,
ignoring a query from a potential
player would be bad enough but we
actually put our questions in a
reply to the 'welcome to our
casino' e-mail they sent us when
we opened our new player account.
This means that they failed to
reply to someone who they knew
had already opened an account
with them. Not good, Box
24. Summary It's
fair to say that Box 24 Casino
frustrated the hell out of us.
We've given them a three star
rating (out of five) but they
could easily have been rated with
two stars or five stars! The
games are really good and the
payouts are more than fair. The
speed of payouts is outstanding
and the no deposit welcome bonus
is very enticing. Unfortunately,
they've published a website that
clearly hasn't been proofread or
tested thoroughly enough and
whoever ignored our e-mail needs
a kick up the arse. Despite
all our compliments about the
games and bonuses, our criticisms
are fair and if we come across as
annoyed, it's because we see a
huge amount of potential at Box
24 and we don't like to see a
really good casino holding
themselves back with daft
mistakes. We'll actually playing
here again ourselves. We
have a feeling that we'll be
re-visiting Box 24 very soon and
updating our review with a
much-improved rating, once the
mentioned issues have been
addressed. The casino itself is
clearly very good but some silly
errors are making them look less
impressive than they actually
are. |
