Quite A Casino King
Jackpot is probably better
described as an Online
Games
website rather than an
Online
Casino.
The reason we say this is that
King Jackpot features some games
that you wouldn't normally come
across at an online casino (ie.
Bingo)
and also lacks some of the
classic casino games that no
ordinary online casino would be
seen without. We're talking about
games such as blackjack,
roulette, stud poker, craps, etc.
At least, we didn't spot them
when looking around. Newcomers

big plus we found when first
visiting King Jackpot is just how
easy it is to sign-up as a new
player and install the games
software. The download is a piece
of cake, the sign-up is simple
and there's no immediate request
for banking details. This is
always a good thing - players
want to be able to browse around
the games software and take a
look around before handing over
credit or debit card details.
Thumbs up to King Jackpot for
this approach. Play

So Fast, Your
Majesty All
sounding fine and dandy so far?
Well, keep a tight lid on your
excitement just for now because
not all was rosy in the royal
gardens of King
Jackpot. From
being very impressed and very
excited about what we were
seeing, within minutes we were
left confused, frustrated and
just about ready to smash
something. So where did
everything go wrong? You
Ain't Getting
In After
downloading the games software
and registering as a new player,
we were taken to the main lobby
at King Jackpot. This in itself
was pretty nice. We had our own
avatar who we could control and
walk around the various games
entrances. We could also see
other players wandering around
and disappearing through various
doors to play games. All nice and
fun. However, we found that only
the 'bingo' door was available to
us. The 'video poker' and 'slots'
doors were not available. It
appears, from what we could tell,
that only the bingo games are
included in the initial games
download and that the video poker
and slots games need to be
downloaded separately. No biggie
- most online casinos only
download a core selection of
games during the initial download
and any additional games you may
want to play need to be
downloaded afterwards. This is
fine - not a problem. Additional
games downloads usually only take
a minute or two and by not
including the entire package of
games during the initial download
does save considerable time when
going through that initial
download. After all, you've got
the gambling bug when you're
ready to download the software
and you want to get
cracking. We
tried and tried numerous times to
see the video poker and slots
games. We clicked on the relevant
doors and it did tell us that
those games were downloading. We
have no idea whether they were
actually downloading or not
because nothing happened, despite
leaving the apparent download
alone for quite some time. So we
waited and waited. And then we
waited some more until eventually
we were greeted with a rather
disappointing "connection to
server lost" error
message. Not
very reassuring. Ho-hum.
We decided to press on. We
reconnected to the games software
and tried again. Same thing -
long wait followed by a kick out
of the software. By
this stage we were starting to
feel somewhat frustrated but,
being a generous-spirited kind of
bunch here at Casino Beacon, we
didn't want to write off King
Jackpot just yet. Hey, at least
they'll let us play their bingo
games. Right? Wrong.
We did get to enter the
bingo games door and we
did manage to buy some
bingo cards. We even got to start
a game once we'd worked out that
we have to sit down at a
poker-style table in order to
play. What we didn't
appreciate was being booted out
of the game with yet another
'connection to server lost' error
halfway through our
game! Now,
we were playing (or trying to)
with King Jackpot's own free
£10 bonus money. If we'd
actually made it as far as making
a real money deposit and then
been booted out of a game halfway
through, we'd have been livid.
Not that we weren't
already. Hey,
Hunny. How's You,
Hunny? One
other thing that annoyed us was
the chat room in the bingo game.
Before we were so unceremoniously
chucked out of the games server,
we were constantly being
addressed by the games moderator
in the bingo chat room. Now, chat
rooms are a big part of most
online bingo sites. This is no
bad thing - bingo is a very
community-spirited game and
chatting away to other players,
wishing them luck, congratulating
them on a win or just chatting
away is part and parcel of the
online bingo scene. And these
chat rooms usually have a
moderator there representing the
bingo site. These moderators are
there to welcome new players,
answers any questions you may
have and generally make you feel
comfortable. Where
the problem? The moderator at
King Jackpot, who went by the
name of CM Magic, was to put it
bluntly - bloody annoying. Being
addressed without invitation as
'hunny' by the moderator once
wasn't annoying. In fact, it was
kind of cute. Being constantly
addressed as 'hunny' every time
he/she wanted to say something
became repetitive, annoying and
bordered on
disrespectful. Are
we being harsh? Perhaps. We're a
fun-loving bunch here. Meet us in
person and you'll find that we're
anything but formal. Heck, you'll
be lucky if we're dressed and
sober. But - there's a time and
place for informalities when you
don't know the first thing about
the person you're chatting to.
Businesses - and at the end of
the day, that's exactly what King
Jackpot is supposed to be -
generally do not address
their customers as 'hunny' before
you've even chatted to them
before. And they certainly don't
do it over and over
again. Play

Casino Run,
Join or Wait? Now,
we rated King Jackpot as 2 out of
5. It very nearly made a rating
of just 1 but we thought better
of it. Whilst we were certainly
getting the runaround with server
errors, plenty of other players
were active in the games rooms
when we tried to play and so it's
quite feasible that you won't
have any such issues. However, we
did speak to a moderator of King
Jackpot in their chat room ("hey,
hunny") and were informed that
they have been having problems.
So it wasn't just us. By
all means give them a go. We know
that they're popular and this type
of site generally doesn't build
up a solid player base without
doing something right. Give
them a shot if you like the look
of what you see. There's £10
risk-free money to be had so it's
not going to hurt you to find
out. Us?
We'll be leaving well enough
alone for now. We'll check back
in the future and see if the
experience is any less
yucky. |
